HealthyLiving Foundation proudly sponsored a bedroom makeover for the winner of an asthma postercontest winner from the Asthma Management Program, Broward County Schools. Asthma is the numberone serious chronic illness in children today, and environmental triggers are key asthma management. We spend up to 90% of our time indoors, which is typically 2-5 times more polluted than outside. Andthe bedroom is where our children spend at least one-third of their life! That would be at least 6 years by their 18th birthday - it should be a safe haven. Check out what we did to make this bedroom healthy-n-green: the problems, the solutions and the fun we had doing it!See Article (http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/broward/west-park/fl-cn-asthma-0822-20100821,0,2263762.story) in South Florida Sun-Sentinel.com

Be the Change you want to see in the World - GHANDI Knowledge, Choices, Change These words describe what our mission is all about. HealthyLiving Foundation,a non-profit 501-c-3 organization, was formed to create awareness about the issues of poor indoor air quality. In order to make the right decisions about protecting the health of our communities; researchers, policymakers and citizens need to know more about the health impact of indoor living environments. With appropriate eduction about environmental health risks, HealthyLiving Foundation will suggest choices to make the changes necessary to have a healthy living space. HEALTHY-n-GREEN is...Healthy Indoor Air , is an educational coloring book focusing on Indoor Air Quality issues. This environmental educational tool shows students problem and solution pages relating to many indoor air quality issues. Topics such as dust mites, pesticides, personal care products, painting, renovations, mold, dust mites, cleaning products and smoking will be reviewed with parent tips and website referencesmat the bottom of each page. On May 8, 2010 HealthyLiving Foundation will be announcing the winner of a Healthy-n-Green Bedroom Makeover for the student who wins the Asthma Poster Conest put on by The Health Education Services (Broward County Public Schools) and NOVA Southeastern University. They will be presenting a Parent Asthma Workshop where students and parents learn about asthma management. The bedroom makeover will take place over the summer. It will be filmed by BECON ITV, Broward Schools tv that is watched on public television. Check out EPA website: This will educate the community on how to make a bedroom healthy and green. HealthyLiving Foundation along with sponsors such as HealthyLiving Interiors will be credited with their contributions on a educational web page. Downloadable tips will also be available.
